Shade Tree Wisdom 6/2/14

“And what is so rare as a day in June?

Then, if ever, come perfect days.

Then Heaven tries earth if it be in tune,

And over it softly her warm ear lays.

Whether we look, or whether we listen

We hear life murmur, or see it glisten,

Every clod feels a stir of might,

An instinct within it hat reaches and towers.”

And so forth

          So, are you enjoying this fresh June day today?

          Because “This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Because at worship yesterday we were reminded again of God’s constant care and blessing in the hymn verse, LSB 725,4.

“Though He giveth or He taketh

God His children ne’er forsaketh.

His the loving purpose solely

To preserve them, pure and holy.”
