Shade Tree Wisdom 3/29/15

Family notes for 3/28/15
This comes late. Monday Rhoda took me for a checkup and she found things cleared up, She did want to take a small sample and I said no because the last time she took a sample I bled for a day. It kept on running into my eye till the nurse put an extra large bandage on it.
On the 24th Conner turned one. He has a little party today.
Yesterday Rhoda took me to the bank to finish changing names on a Vanguard Fund. I believe that does it. She also treated me to lunch including an ice cream treat which I did not eat. Too sweet.
One of the servers stopped in and wanted to know why her husband  died at age 52. We talked about that a while and I told her I did not know except that God always works what is best for us. She told me she lives down the block from Trinity.
I see that a pastor has accepted  the call to Zion of Tomball, Pastor Franzmeier has been serving all this time as vacancy pastor. He must be thankful to be relieved of that task.
In one of the Clive Cussler books two men grab a briefcase from our hero and make off with it. His wife wonders why he doesn’t seem bothered. He had sort of expected it so when they opened their stolen case it snapped wide and squirted them  with in the face with blue ink.
It will be sunny and warm here today and the weatherman said “the summer looms”.
May God bless your day and give you His blessing.
Love,
Dad (That lovable old curmudgeon)

Shade Tree Wisdom 7/13/15

Shade Tree Wisdom 7/13/15
Scripture is very clear on one thing, that “The soul that sinneth it shall die.”
Indeed, St. Paul  writes to the Romans,
“For the wages of sin
Is death, But the free gift of God
Is eternal life  in
Christ Jesus, our Lord.”
Romans 6,23
It is clear death comes to all of us. This is expressed poetically thus:
“And then one day I’ll cross the river,
I’ll fight life’s final war with pain.
And then as death gives way to victory,
I’ll see the lights of glory and I’ll know He lives.
Because he lives I can face tomorrow
Because He lives all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.”
This is so well summarized I thought I’d pass it along. I hope you find comfort and strength to go on because “life is worth the living”.

Shade Tree Wisdom 6/10/16

Shade Tree Wisdom 6/10/2016 This is an eternal truth, so reassuring and always comforting in our lives, and we are grateful to almighty God for His blessing. “Heaven and earth Will pass away, But my words will Not pass away.” Matthew 24,33 Just think for a moment, we can trust the Word of Christ, for He always speaks truthfully. How nice it is that there is one word that never changes. GPD 6/10/16

Shade Tree Wisdom 3/10/17

Shade Tree Wisdom 3/10/2017 Let this be among our Lenten prayers. “Fear not I am with you, O be not dismayed, For I am your God and will still give you aid; I’ll strengthen you, help you, and cause you to stand, Upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand.” LSB 728,2 GPD 3/10/17
