Shade Tree Wisdom 1/8/16

At the new year we resolve to do certain things. One example is the ancient prophet Daniel. Here is his resolution. But Daniel resolved that He would not defile Himself with the king’s Food, or with the wine That he drank.” Daniel 1,6. That resolve was really costly, and he offered this challenge. If you find us less healthy on this diet, we’ll try yours. But the steward found them more healthy than the other men in that class. So Daniel prevailed.

Well, are we making costly resolutions, some that cost us in comfort or in being well liked and accepted? Or in being popular? Take the plunge; make a statement; take the dare. Find yourself developing greater stature among your fellows.
