Shade Tree Wisdom 4/15/2016 The day of reckoning. “For he is God’s servant For your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain, for he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.” Romans 13,4. Government has a purpose, that we might live peaceably one with the other. That’s one of the things our tax dollar brings, as well as protection from any outside enemy. The Apostle Paul reminds us of this when he says, “for authorities are ministers of God attending to this very thing.” If we keep this purpose in mind, the tax doesn’t seem too much, does it?
