Valentine’s Day
According to tradition, St. Valentine,
a physician and priest, was martyred in Rome by emperor Claudius in A.D. 270. He left an encouraging note for his jailor’s daughter written on an irregularly shaped piece
of paper.
That,
over time, has led to our current use of a heart shape for our messages of love and
endearment. Giving flowers – and this is one of the busiest days for florists,
simply deepens our message.
Just
adding to your knowledge of history.
