Shade Tree Wisdom 10/22/14

          Several members of Living Word stopped by for a visit.  I always appreciate such visits, and we got to talking  about the state of the church and the world we are living in which seems more and more hostile to Jesus Christ.  Yet did not Jesus himself meet opposition of the leadership and was crucified for us, so that we might have the forgiveness of sins.

          And we spoke of the power of the Word and the work that is going on in all the world because He commanded us to “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature”.  And God does bless the message regardless of how it seems.  So I am bold to remind us all of the hymn:

“Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father,

There is no shadow of turning with Thee;

Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not,

As Thou has been, Thou forever wilt be.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,

Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide,

Strength for today, and bright hope for tomorrow,

Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside.

All I have needed Thy hand hath provided,

Great is Thy faithfulness Lord unto me.”

          We do well to remember the words of promise for our living tomorrow.
