Shade Tree Wisdom 8/27/15

          It somehow seems fitting that the Gospel of John begins with an introduction.

“In the beginning was the word

And the word was with God,

And the word was God.

He was in the beginning with God.

All things were made through Him,

And without Him was not

Anything made that was made.

In Him was life. and the life was

The light of men.

          The light shines in  the darkness

And the darkness

Has not

 overcome it.”

John 1, 1-5

          Somehow, that beginning of the life story of Jesus Christ seems all together fitting for our day. For John gets right to the point when He calls Jesus “The light of the world”, and seems troubled that modern man doesn’t  seem to pay much attention Many indeed ignore  Jesus’ word of salvation and guidance that He so freely offers.

          And reading that  is critical for our day, because we so need the salvation and the  wisdom that God alone can give. Let us continue the pray that result wll be achieved. May God bless the work.
