Ever said something like, ”once in a
blue moon“? Well, come to find out there is
such a thing as a ‘blue moon'. The next one comes on Friday at
5:43 a.m.
In the normal celestial cycle a full moon occurs every thirty days, which leaves several days out of the normal cycle, so every 2 1/2 years or so the left-over days will bring two full moons in one calendar month. The second full moon is called a blue moon.
To us Christians it simply undergirds what the Psalm says:
“The heavens declare the glory
Of God, and the sky above
Proclaims His handiwork”
Psalm 19,1
